SAILING GB’S SAGA HOURS AWAY FROM CLASS VICTORY

Date: 22-Aug-2014

With the finishing line almost within touching distance, Saga  and her amateur crew just need to keep it together in order to win IRC 1

SAILING GB'S SAGA HOURS AWAY FROM CLASS VICTORY

The plucky amateurs including female crew members aboard Sailing GB’s Hanse 54 Saga are only a matter of a few hundred miles from completing an against the odds victory in IRC class one. The yacht is currently off Berry Head, Dartmouth and within touching distance of the finishing line and victory in Cowes.

This has been one of the most brutal Round Britain and Ireland races ever seen and with all other entrants in IRC 1 forced into retirement by the savage battering the fleet received on the way round, only the plucky Hanse and her weary but elated crew battle on. All being well, they should make it into port within the next twelve hours, but they’re not quite home and dry yet!
